Re: Sky OS

Just so you know, Sky OS is just the new name for Entertainment OS that your device already runs on rather than a whole new thing.

Any future updates will install in the background for you when it rolls out to your device.

Yep. Incidentally the name "entertainmentOS" was only adopted as a marketing stunt for an update to the OS that was already on Sky Glass. It's only had 4 versions (1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3).

@KP31

It's the same operating system with a rebrand.

'Entertainment OS' is now called 'Sky OS'

@KP31

I'm not aware of any new software features.

The v2 is a hardware refresh.

Re: Availability of new OS on Gen 1 Glass

The original Sky Glass will be supported with Sky OS upgrades for for foreseeable future; Sky says it's not near the end of its life.

Edit: actually the auto-adjust viewing mode might well be v2 only, and that's technically software, although implemented in hardware.

Re: Sky OS

I got an email from Sky yesterday saying about 7 new features, buy my sky stream system currently has none of them, so not sure when it's going to update the OS.

The features listed i believe were all ones that have been added over the past several months since they last sent out a very similar marketing email highlighting the features of Entertainment OS several months ago.

Re: Sky OS

it says you can skip ads with one click instead of FFWD.  Watching ITVX i can't do that, but maybe it only works when watching through SKY rather than ITVX app?
