Sky Live CH01 crashing

I have seen a couple other users posting on here and wanted to see if there was any other escalation point or assistance that could be provided.

I purchased sky live 1.5 years ago and had it working for the first year quite well. I mainly use it for zoom calls and it works great to have on a big screen.

13 months into using it, the unit started to crash midway through my zoom calls (20 minutes or so) and flagged the CH01 error, which means the camera lost connection to the tv. I called sky to troubleshoot and they sent a new cable, which didnt seem to resolve the issue. They had me factory reset the gen 1 glass tv, which again didnt solve the issue and since the 1 year warranty had expired, the only other thing they offered me was to purchase another full price unit....

I honestly left it in a drawer for a couple of months until the delivery of my gen 2 glass this week. I plugged the camera in just to see if a new tv would revive the unit and it still crashes after 20 minutes into a call (or any sky live app that uses the camera feed).

I called sky again to see if there was any further troubleshooting and they again said I would have to purchase a whole new unit. The support team chap on the phone actually said it might be worth asking around a local electronic shop to see if it can be fixed... LOL.

For a company touting "going green" is there really no other way to officially get this repaired? Seems a bit insane that this camera is just going to end up in the dump and they expect you to shell out another £250 for a unit that doesn't move from the tv and has no physical damage.

Any further advice or troubleshooting would be much appreciated.

Re: Sky Live CH01 crashing

@Jaden826

I think Sky have essentially abandoned the Sky Live camera, despite what some people say on here.

It has been removed entirely from the Sky Glass sales pages and all the song and dance fanfare around it when it launched has disappeared. It's almost like it never existed in the first place.

My guess is that Sky have quietly discontinued it and are only selling off remaining stock as an afterthought to those purchasing a new gen 2 Glass TV. The Sky Glass Air TV, launching later this year, is too thin to have the camera attached to it so it's a non-starter there.

IMHO it's a very poor show of Sky to only provide a one year warranty on the Live camera when Glass comes with two years, particularly when it costs as much as it does.

If you wish to lodge a formal complaint then you can do so via Sky's official complaints procedures.
