Sky Glass tv switch on.

Just taken delivery of 55” Sky glass tv.. I’ve turned the voice control off as three times now we have come into the room and the tv is on. It’s happened once more with voice control off. I’ve had to switch it off at the mains incase it comes on and we are out. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, this has been reported several times. Could be that you have a dodgy TV. Give Sky a call for further troubleshooting and potential replacement of the TV. Make sure you get a brand new one delivered as a replacement, rather than a refurb.

Many thanks for your response.

I'll give them a call and see what happens.

@SAL50 Could it have come on due to the motion sensors (pet / child etc).  Personally when I had a Glass TV I got fedup with all these gimmicks and ended up turning off everything in the startup & standby menu except for Networked Standby mode which should be left on.

After doing that I found the whole Glass experience was improved.

Wow. Didn't know we had a motion sensor but I will check it out.

Many thanks 👍

@SAL50  I no longer have Glass (just a puck) so I can't check the wording but I think it was "Wake using motion" (or something similar).  As I mentioned unless you find the various options useful I would turn them off (except networked standby mode).

Re: Sky Glass tv switch on.

I think I will search that and definitely switch them off.

Thanks again.
