Sky Glass not working
Good morning, so something random is happening with my Sky Glass TV. It won't mute at all when I press the mute button. I have to turn it down. And when I switch channels or even apps, the TV will go completely silent like it's on mute. And I have to press the volume button up for the sound to come back on. I've tried unplugging the TV and disconnecting the remote.

Try all the troubleshooting steps outlined here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/remote-control-help-sky-glass
If that doesn't work it could be that the remote is faulty. You can request a new remote under warranty here: https://www.sky.com/help/forms/streaming-tv-remote or by contacting sky.

I don't think this is a remote issue I think this has been happening since the last update mine is really starting to get on my wick now. Whilst watching the tv every half hour or so the volume disappears and you have to press the volume up button once and it comes straight back on. If I then press mute the screen shows the volume dropping to nothing but the volume still remains normal. I've tried resetting nothing happens I've just got used to it. If it wasn't for the sound quality of the sky glass it would have been binned by now

Hi
have you tried resetting the remote ?
The remote can be reset and paired again following these steps;
- Press and hold 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds.
- Press and hold 4 and 6 together for three seconds.
- Press and hold 1 and 3 together for three seconds and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi mine is doing the same , resetting the tv doesn't sort it out nor does replacing the remote with a brand new one or reconnecting the original one .

Yeah reset mine again another 3 times in the last week, really getting to the end of my love affair with sky glass. I got one of the very early tvs wonder if the new ones are still as bad

Snap.. so pleased I am not alone with these mad glitches.. they are so random, suggests some basic testing has been missed before releases. I am currently tracking 3 bugs:
1 - permanently now, pressing mute changes the visual on screen but has no impact on the volume
2 - sometimes when I select from menu, the channel comes on but with the black preview square in the bottom left of the screen. I have to reboot
3 - sometimes if I have been watching the channel 4 app, I can watch it, finish and turn the tv off. When I come back to the tv hours later, that app starts playing in the background even though it's not on visually.
