I believe Glass v2 has VESA mount points: the v1 certainly does.

Yep, this is what Sky say in the Gen 2 reviewer's handbook:

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
Absolutely abysmal and backwards process Sky! Talk about making it difficult for customers and more importantly, why do you agents not directly ask customers purchasing Sky Glass gen 2 whether they use a stand or need a wall mount!? Horrendous way of doing things! To not be able to purchase a wall mount independently is also a joke and commercially makes zero sense!

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
Sadly this is still true. I wish I had known about this forum beforehand. Had an original Sky glass which came with a stand that could be adapted to be wall mount. However Sky Gen2 is NOT the same and you must buy wall mount as the same time as discussed here. This makes no business sense. It's poor on Sky that they don't explain this up front. The only option is to return within cooling off period and reorder. This is utter nonsense. Hence I think I will just return and buy a different tv. I cannot understand how Sky have allowed this to continue. Very frustrated

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
What an absolute shambles, why change the wall mounting from the 1st generation and now when I called you can't purchase. Apparently Sky will make them available to Amazon but no idea when and the fact you can't just puclrchase from Sky directly is absolutely ridiculous. So I now have to go through the process of cancelling and then reordering and re boxing. Shame on you Sky that you can't even provide me a bracket. Just another reason to look at leaving Sky. I feel like you've sold me half a product. As a Sky customer for over 25 years and more you can't even sell me a bracket but why, why , why did you change it from 1st generation or is it yet again look after the new customers coming along and offering nothing to the loyal customer who has had glass for a while.

You don't need to cancel and reorder, you can use any standard VESA wall mount for the Gen 2, just make sure it supports the weight of the TV as the Glass TV is typically slightly heavily than other TVs of the same size.

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
@mike1091 The design was changed to address feedback from Gen 1, if they hadn't improved it then there'd be no real need for a Gen 2.
In the meantime, you can use any compatible VESA mount from any of the big retailers, you don't need to use a Sky specific one.

Because the Gen 1 integral wall mount plate necessitated a hugely overcomplicated (and expensive) furniture stand design with significant assembly required, which was what the majority of customers would be using.

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
Thank you
my only concern is why they changed the back of the tv for the mount. I've had GEN1 and it's up on my wall, I simply expected to be able to take that one off and put GEN 2 up. But as they changed the mounting design I now have to buy a new bracket but why should I? Maybe new customers require the bracket but it should have been like for like I continue to use my bracket - there was no need to change it and hasn't taken into account those that already have GEN1 mounted on wall

Maybe ..... although you will need the gen 1 wall mount to reattach the stand to the gen 1 if you want to use or sell.

As I noted above, once the decision was made to provide a much simpler drop-in furniture stand, continuing to specify the weight-bearing recess would be an unnecessary (and costly) complication in what's already over-priced hardware.
The dual-purpose Gen 1 mount was an experiment which they presumably decided not to continue.

Re: Sky Glass Wall Mount can only be purchased with TV
Is the sky glass gen 2 wall mount too heavy for the wall? I'm just worried as I just bought the 55" Gen2 and the tv and bracket are both quite heavy.

Well that entirely depends on the structural integrity of the wall you want to attach them to...
The weight of Sky Glass Gen2 is listed on the Sky website. It's up to you, or a TV wall mounting specialist, to work out whether your wall can take the weight and use appropriate fixings to ensure stability. Might be worthwhile checking your home contents insurance for accidental damage cover too... just in case!
