Not a single one, I'm merely pointing out that people can get any TV they want on tick and not just Sky Glass.

Nothing wrong with saying don't pay more for a television that does less.

It's a long time ago now, but I was one of the people that pointed out the financials and how customers should be assessing long term value when gen 1 originally launched.

At the time, I had just bought a 43" LG TV for the bedroom with almost identical specs and a 5 year warranty (no soundbar obvs), for £199.

What I have learnt in the meantime is what Sky have known all along, that the vast majority of people don't think about TVs the same way I do. 

Decent picture, solid sound, ease of use and all their favourite content in easy reach for what they feel is a fair deal (whether we agree or not), is what matters to the majority which Sky Glass is aimed at.

Alright fair enough, I did take it as an extremely sarcastic response so I apologise for jumping down your throat.

I agree with a lot of what you've just said because I've always maintained Sky Glass is literally exploiting the average punter seemingly content to accept mediocrity.

Glass hasn't got a decent picture, it definitely doesn't produce solid sound and it sure as hell does not offer a fair deal when it can't play current gen video games as they're intended.

I'd have a wild stab in the dark by suggesting the majority of people who end up getting Sky Glass don't actually appreciate how subpar these televisions are because of the over the top price point that these units come in at.

And I say that in the knowledge of a much younger family member having bought a 65" Glass TV being proper disappointed with his. He genuinely believed it would perform and produce similar levels of picture and audio quality that our rig does. He was ever so offended when I laughed at him for revealing what he expected from it and so is a topic we don't ever talk about now.

Sky do an exceptional job of making buyers believe they're going to be getting top tier performance from Sky Glass when that's simply not the case.

Any notes on the internal hardware? Would be good if it had an updated processor at least to make the OS a little snappier, it's not too bad but currently a lot of jank, and scrolling through the info panels. And we all know the OG Glass get stuck a lot

Would of upgraded if it was 120 hz and had game mode .straight away but dosnt seem to have that feature so may as well keep my gen 1 for now..

Hi, I had the 1st gen. I was on to tv number 4 due to the issues with picture quality. My broadband was ok. However, tv just wasn't up to a basic Samsung tv  picture quality was always ghosting or pixels which the stated was broadband. But it wasn't. The 4k dot tv that was supposed to be the best to beat Qled tv was more like a 70's tv with lots of noise. Sound was good will say that. They took the 4th tv back and I got a Samsung qled and sky puck. IF ONLY SKY GOT THE TV RIGHT. And did overhaul of it. It's a fab idea. They just haven't got it right. And it's a lot of money for people for them to not get it right.

I personally love my Glass Gen 1 that I have in both my kitchen and lounge and will be buying Gen 2 today. And that's fine for me. I won't push it down people's throats like

people that have hatred for it do.

All we know so far is that it is an updated SoC (system on a chip), compared to gen 1 but don't have full details yet.

Interesting! I'm sure I read it was compatible but it does look like they've stopped promoting it.

So the Wall Mount is an additional cost of £2 per month or £99 upfront!

Does anyone know if the Gen1 wall mount works with Gen2 TV?
