Remove a stuck ITVX Premium/BritBox item

I have an item, marked as BritBox, in my "Continue watching" list which I cannot get rid of by the usual method of running the item through to its end.  When I open the item I am immediately pushed towards an option to upgrade to ITVX Premium - which I do not want. However, I cannot get out of this loop to return to the standard version of ITVX.  Research suggests this is a known issue between Sky Glass/ITVX integration and that it can be remotely rectified by Technical Support (TS).  However, actually contacting TS is nigh on impossible with every move just being looped back into on-line help and no telephone numbers being offered.

You can try and see if ITVX will give you a 7 day free trial and try the usual method. I'm not aware of any technical support removing items from the CW rail.

 

However one option would be to opt out of personalisation, this will delete the CW rail on all your devices. You can then opt in again and it will reappear, but note this will reset the content for everything. Details here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/personalisation-on-sky-glass-and-sky-stream

The other option is just to wait, usually after about a month or so unwatched shows will be removed from the continue watching rail ( although the period of time seems to depend upon the streaming app).

Not sure what you have from Britbox but if it is a series do a search add it to your playlist then look for the very last episode available if you are lucky this may be available outside of britbox. Run that final episode through and your britbox will clear. 

 

If it's a one off drama or.... you are stuck with the above post options. If you can't live with it sitting there sign up for the free trial clear your issue and cancel. 

 

That said itvx premium does get rid of all those annoying ADS.
