I'm new to Sky Stream and find the feature unpredictable. I set a documentary to record on PBS America and it said it would record but when I went to view it in my playlist, the only option it gave was to ITVx Premium which I don't subscribe to.
Exactly the same happened with three old films I tried to record from Film 4. The playlist showed ITVx premium as the only option for them.
Surely this is a bug as the Puck is indicating it will be recorded when being set from the program guide yet it isn't and then just points me to a subscription service that I don't have?

Unfortunately it is to do with streaming rights.and the fact that stream doesn't record locally. Some channels have the right to broadcast but not on demand and on demand rights sit with another service. The playlist will point to whereever the content is.
Although the message should be slightly different rather than "added to play list and set to record" it should just be "added to playlist".

Thanks Mike
If the reason is a rights problem, then it must be program specific as I have recorded other programs on PBS America without issue. This leaves the problem that you never know whether it will be available on demand later or not. The system must know at some point about the rights to an individual program , perhaps it should report this at the point of adding to the playlist?
In the past, I've recorded these same kinds of programs using an old YouView recorder from Freeview in SD. Looks like I will just have to keep doing this as a backup and also add them to the playlist in the hope I also get an HD version.
I really like Sky Stream but these quirks (that look more like bugs due to the misleading messaging) should be made clear to customers. Maybe they'll fix it eventually.

It is indeed on a programme by programme basis and not a channel by channle basis.
Ultimately to get the best out of the Sky Streaming platform you typically also need to subscribe to several of of the other on-demand apps like Netflix/Prime Video/Disney/Paramount + to ensure you can watch the content that is broadcast on the various channels.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDo make sure when up you choose a programme you have added,on your playlist, to. scroll down from the top shown 'hero' programme image and summary text.
I often record films and docs from those channels along with the likes of Great TV, Legend etc. find the top ' hero' image Is promoting it on another channel or app platform, but with a quick scroll down I see it listed.
Of course,, there are occasions, where some channels do not have rights for content other than live.
But, I do find that quite rare, after a short time form adding to playlist.

Just looked and I see what you are saying.
I'll bear this in mind - thanks.
