Playlist defaults to SKY channels not the channel i added

I am using SKY GLass, to 'record' anything i add it to the playlist say a film on channel 4, when i go back it offers the film on sky store which i have to buy, why? surely i should be able to just watch the film from channel 4 as if i had recorded it.

It's a rights issue.

For a lot of films show on Film 4 Channel 4 only have the broadcast rights and not the streaming rights, this is the reason that a lot of films shown on Film 4 aren't available to watch later on the Channel 4 app.

In these situations Sky will always default to Sky Cinema or Sky Store but it's possible the film's streaming rights are available on other third party apps like Paramount + or Disney +. If you open the film on your playlist and scroll down to Availale Now it will display all the services that the film is available on.

@Alan0668  A lot of channels don't have the On Demand rights to movies so the playlist will select the film from whoever does.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Never trust a sales pitch from any company.

It's important to do your own independent research when spending hundreds of pounds on a TV with a unique operating system embedded within it. Sky Glass works well for some, but not for others. The marketing has led to confusion for many people, so you are not alone. If you find that it's not doing what you were led to believe then you can return it within 31 days (for a £25 fee).

The key thing is to understand that it's not like the traditional satellite broadcasting and is very much a streaming platform that relies on video-on-demand from Sky and other third-party streamers ( e.g Netflix, Paramount+  etc) and amalgamates all the available content in one place.

Unfortunately, salespeople will always embellish the truth a bit ( as they do for any product they wish to sell), either on purpose to get a sale or just because they don't actually fully understand the product they are selling.
