Netflix

My daughter pays for me to be a user on her Netflix account. Since I've had sky glass I haven't been able to log in properly with My log in and to start with, my daughters login Didn't work. I called Netflix & they deleted my account and then emailed me telling me they had deleted this email & I can't use it anymore I gave a 2nd email so she sent another email invite and I tried that but any of these options come up with a payment screen. She then added me as an icon on her email and I was able to log in. Now she has received an email saying she will now be billed through the sky package (she doesn't have sky) and that she has to cancel her account or I pay through mine. she has just received another email saying extra members are not available on sky through Netflix; even though I have always piggybacked her Netflix in my old sky account. What a con!!!!

Hi @penny+127

Netflix is included as part of your Sky account. When you try and sign in to netflix it tells netflix to take over billing: see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/apps-on-sky-q-and-glass-using-netflix

These instructions should have been emailed to you when you signed up.

Sky doesn't support the additional household feature: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sharing-your-netflix-account

You can continue using your daughter's account, as once you have signed in, you are free to sign out and then sign back in with another account, so not a con! But you should have created a free netflix account first as per the instructions.

Your daughter will need to speak to netflix to uncouple it from Sky and resume paying for it and the additional household feature, if you then create an account, sign in, confirm billing through sky, sign out and then in with your daughters account, you will be back to how it was.

Not a con at all.

Its current Netflix policy to not allow the household sharing feature on subscriptions sold via third parties like Sky.

When you login to Netflix for the first time  on Sky Glass it will link your Sky and Netflix accounts together and will cause the linked Netflix account to be "billed" by Sky.

If you are a Sky subscriber I don't understand why you are still trying to use your daughters account as the standard with ads Netflix plan will be included with your Sky TV subscription.

How the Netflix arrangement with Sky works is alll documented in the guides here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/apps-on-sky-q-and-glass-netflix

Re: Netflix

Thank you. If I did get an email, I must have missed it. That's the most straight forward explanation I've seen, much appreciated. I phoned Netflix and sky. Sky just told me to ring Netflix and they said it was an issue on their part. 🫨 Netflix cancelled my email address! So thank you, that's really helpful 😁
