Can’t hear commentators.

Why is sky sports so quiet on commentary and stadium noise so loud?

@Smithy2025 Have you not turned on the enhanced speech feature? It may help. I don't find this a problem myself.

Re: Can’t hear commentators.

Yes I've tried everything in settings including enhanced speech but the problem still exists. It's been the case for years using Sky Q, Sky Stream with the puck and now with Sky Glass gen2, I even tried UHD and it makes no difference. I reckon it's the way they mix the sound to make the stadium noise more dinamic but the commentary is **bleep**. 😡

@Smithy2025 Could also be your hearing that's at fault too. Not being nasty but hearing varies. I don't have a problem with the sports commentary myself for example but I do struggle on some dramas where the music overwhelms the dialogue at times. Sign of getting old...🙁

Re: Can’t hear commentators.

You are correct sir and my hearing is not great but my wife's is perfect and she has the same opinion of Sky Sports.
BBC drama is terrible for the reasons you mention.

Re: Can’t hear commentators.

There's nothing wrong with my hearing but I found the Liverpool & Bournemouth game and the West ham & Chelsea game tonight, the volume on the commentary is very quiet

  • There's nothing wrong with my hearing either, but listening to the Hundred tonight is awful. Haven't got a clue what the commentators are saying.

Re: Can’t hear commentators.

I see it as a blessing in disguise. Most of what the 'pundits' have to say is just drivel anyway. Having an option to just have ambient sound without professional talkers' whitty banter over the top would be ideal.
