Burnside88

Hey everyone, hope you're all well.

just wanted to understand or if anyone seen the same on Skyglass

Why all the music channels are now not there there's only MTV?

Have I missed something or is there an update coming or?
Just seems really bad that we're paying for a package Music is a part of that and we don't seem to have it.

anybody else see any?

Re: Burnside88

None of the broadcasters of the channels you refer to have decided to broadcast on Sky Stream🤔

You should complain to those broadcasters to upgrade their channels to HD  for inclusion on Sky Stream. The major challenge they have is the expensive of broadcasting on DSat and IP concurrently😉

The Box, Kiss, 4Music, Magic and Kerrang closed on all platforms (Sky and otherwise) from July 1st as part of cost-cutting within Channel 4

Channel 4’s spokesperson told RXTV "We will be closing our Box network of channels from 1st July across all platforms – as they are no longer of sufficient scale to deliver meaningful return on investment. Our strategy reflects the generational shift in TV viewing and involves reducing costs – particularly in linear activities – to allow us to invest in digital priorities and stay competitive in a world of global entertainment conglomerates and social media giants.”

@Turner

Your Sky subscription would probably not have been going towards those channels anyway: their audience share was almost certainly too low to be amongst those which receive a (small) revenue that way.  Such service relies almost entirely on advertising income, and realistically music channels no longer have viewing figures which attract advertisers.

@Turner  Given the amount of channels within the platform any reduction for the loss of music channels would be pennies, if your lucky.

As @TimmyBGood  the fact viewership numbers are so low would suggest they relied solely on advertising alone.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
