Difficult to understand your post, due I think to incorrect technology terminology.
An email client is the app/program you use to read your email. In your case it appears to be Apple Mail..
So when you say "Using other email programs everything works ok" do you mean when using other email acounts (i.e. not Sky|Yahoo) the audible alerts are heard?
