changing email address / passwo

Wanting to leave sky email behind. Created gmail account but unable to update settings so sky emails are forwarded and emails sent have new gmail address. Previous posts suggest changing sky email password to a generated one. Somehow I have managed to generate such a password but am unable to change this password on iphone. Seem unable to locate any option to change password

Any help appreciated as don't believe this should be so complicated

@D.a.v.e not absolutely sure what you're trying to do, but if you're attempting to forward email arriving in your Sky Yahoo Mail Inbox to your new GMail account you can't.

Re: changing email address / passwo

@Mark39 Thank you for your reply.

This is exactly what I was trying to achieve. Was hoping to use gmail account so any emails sent to sky.com would automatically be sent to gmail.

Perhaps the information found on the forums was old as it certainly seemed possible?

Do you have any other suggestions?

Can sky be forwarded to another email such as outlook?

Thanks again

@D.a.v.e it may well have been old information - it certainly used to be possible to forward Sky Yahoo Mail (SYM) messages to other email accounts, but that feature was removed some while ago, I'm afraid. You can now only forward SYM Inbox messages to a different folder (within SYM).

You could do it the other way round, however. That is, set up GMail to collect SYM messages as they're received. It's a long time since I set it up, but I think you'll almost certainly need to use a generated password for SYM in the GMail settings.

Re: changing email address / passwo

Great, sounds like a possible solution

can you advise on this ?

Not sure re imap / pop setting etc

Also, tried to create generated password for sky account but couldn't figure out how to update on iphone - doesn't appear to be a way to reset email password on phone

To have Gmail collcet your Sky emails then when you have the email account set up go to Settings > Accounts and Import > Check mail from other accounts and you should set it up from here.

Re: changing email address / passwo

hi

So adding an account is what i was trying in first place, but can't get it to work.

Not sure how to find out what the POP and PORT settings should be.

Also read a suggestion sky password should be changed to a generated one, which brings me back to the start, i'm struggling with how to change the sky email password, either on phone or pc

@D.a.v.e

Login here to your gmail account:

www.gmail.com

The settings icon is the screw icon on the right then go to See all Settings > Accounts & Import and next to "Check emails from other accounts" select "Add an email account" and use these settings:

Username is your complete Sky email address

server is pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Make sure the SSL option is selected.

Password - Try your usual one, is that doesn't work then generate one here and use it:

https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps?client=email
