access to e-mails

I live in an area that has poor to no mobile phone access, the only way that I can access my e-mails is to give my phone to a friend  he drives ten minutes up the road to get a signal and then phones me with the pin number so i can log on to my e-mails, can anyone explain the moronic system forced on paying customers by the dipsticks at SKY, because my e-mails now cannot be secure because of the method I have to use to access them! So my question how do I solve this problem that is NOT of my making?

@CODYPUP have you spoken to Sky about it? That would seem to be the obvious first thing to do.

Re: access to e-mails

Hi Mark39,

I spoke to SKY when this system first came in and they were not at all helpful, the outcome was 2you can change providers" but why should I, have been a Sky customer for approx 25 years and have been very happy with the service provided.

Hi @CODYPUP I'd suggest speaking to them again. They have in place processes for customers who don't have a mobile (which arguably is what your situation amounts to) which may not have been in place when you spoke to them last.

In the meantime you should be able to make things a little more bearable by ticking the 'remember me for 30 days' box and not logging out when you've finished an email session. This relies on a cookie, so it won't work if your browser is set to delete cookies on closure etc.

If you turn on wifi calling you should then be able to make calls and send text messages as they will go via Wifi instead.

Re: access to e-mails

Thank you for trying to help SKY, but my phone is a phone not a smart phone.
