Why does sky need an activation code for me to access emails

If you haven't set it up then select the "Maybe later" option to continue into your email account.

If you have set it up then the code you need to enter is sent to your mobile.

It only happens if you've set up 2 step log in. If you set it up inadvertently, use the Recovery Code emailed to you to turn it off.

If you have set up 2FA, you will be sent a verification code to your mobile number.

If that is not what you mean by an activation code, can you explain a bit more about just what you do mean.
