Weird email every time I send an email with Sky?

Since Sky decided to implement this two step varification I am receiving an email with a two step varification check every single time I use my email. What is this? I've reset my password and deleted any filters in yahoo mail just in case this is a problem. Any help appreciated as it's been driving me nuts trying to find out if there is a problem.

 

The email gets sent to me every time I use my email. is anyone else seeing this same behaviour, is it legit?

 

The email reads as follows :

Two-step verification checks completed

 

Just so you know, there’s been a request made to change details on your Sky account.

 

If you authorised this request through two-step verification, you can ignore this email and carry on as normal.

 

However, if you didn’t make or authorise this request, or if you suspect something suspicious, find out what to do next:

 

 

Alternatively, guidance can be accessed by visiting sky.com and searching “Protect from fraud.”

@Omnicelt 

You shouldn't be receiving that email everytime you login but you should be sent a one time passcode to your mobile which when used will then allow you to login in.

Yes That's the problem. 

 

I've no idea what's going on with it. Any help from anyone who knows what is going on will be much appreciated.

Just had the same when I was sent a verification code this morning!

It's nice to know what's going on but will become a pain if it happens every time.

To make matters worse I just spoke to a Sky rep and was told that the two step varification does not activate every time you sign in, only when changing password. U was told they would fill in a form and someone would be in touch. All extremely confusing. I was advised to change my password again, which yes you guessed it did absolutely nothing to change the email being sent again. . I was also told that they are receiving loads of complaints today regarding the same problem with  the repeated email "request made to change data.

What you have been told is incorrect although if you tick the remember me box when you next login and do not logout all things being well  I believe you should not have to login for the next 30 days although it will be interesting to see if this does actually work.

The the remember me box does not work.  I'm still waiting for the form that i was told would be sent?

@Omnicelt two different things. If you change your Sky password you may be sent a one time password to enable it to happen. That only happens when you change your password.

 

When you log in to Sky Yahoo Mail, you're sent a Verification Code as part of the login process. Tick the remember me box and you shouldn't have to go through that again for 30 days providing you don't log out of Sky Yahoo Mail. That's how it has worked for me.
