Using sky email with the gmail app - sky account keeps dissappearing

I've been accessing sky email via the gmail app for many years on android.

A few days ago it kept throwing me out when trying to read a sky email.

Then the account dissappeard altogether.

I've set it up three times now using the other account type and the sky auto-generated passwords and it all seems to work fine for a few hours - but then the account just dissappears again.

Any ideas?

@HarrySingh66

When you say it disappears is it now showing up under accounts and imports in Gmail ?

No it only shows the gmail account. It vanishes completely and I have to re-add it.

I'm stumped. Are you adding it as a POP account or a Gmail one ?

Re: Using sky email with the gmail app - sky account keeps dissappearing

I use the option Other

Type my sky email address

Enter the 16 character password generated by sky

It automatically validates server settings

Asks me about notifications

Tells me my account is set up

And there it is already to go

Just what do you mean by this? (edit, I hadn't seen your previous replies to @caesarome , I really should read the whole thread before replying)

Be careful with generating passwords, there appears to be a limit of 30 and then you can't generate any more. Previously it was possible to rescind the old ones, but Sky have removed that ability.

It may be better to try using a diferent app, such as Outlook, which doesn't need to use a generated password.

Thanks I've set up Outlook.

(The account I added to the gmail app at 14:00 had dissappeared by 17:30!)

That has left me just as stumped as @caesarome. It's not a problem I have ever heard of before.
