Turn off 2 step verification code

I have used the recovery code as suggested and the notice comes up in green that the 2 step verification has been turned off.

I log in again and it still asks for a code to be sent to my mobile number. Any ideas please ??

Unfortunately Sky have made it mandatory to use 2FA, so I don't think there is any way around it.
