I've had two of these messages now saying...
We’ve seen you haven’t used your Sky email account in a while (this is the one that ends in ‘@sky.com’)
This is a reminder that this email account will be closing on the 24th of January 2025. This means you won’t be able to access any emails in your inbox, including any attachments after this date.
This is my main account for all my things, I use it everyday , I've logged on the app and logged into the Web page. Obviously I don't want to lose this account, has anyone dealt with this issue before.
Thank you

Yes I've had the same message and use the account daily , I've tried logging on via the sky web page but have got another reminder my account will be closed due to inactivity , tried the virtual assistant but did not provide anything helpful

I generally use outlook to access mails , but did log onto the webmail account via the sky page when I got the first message which I thought would resolve it but got a reminder again today that my account had been inactive , have tried again to login via yahoo but now not confident this means I will avoid my account

I don't think it works, when I got the original email I did those things too, logged into my account on various browsers and apps, but still got the same message today. Virtual assistant is pretty useless.

@LeeBrum84 I've also been receiving these emails and use emails regularly. I don't log in via the sky website, although on receiving the email in Dec I did log into all my Sky Yahoo mail accounts via sky.com. I have now receved the same email stating my account will be deleted on 24th Jan. I'm fairly good at spotting spam and this looks legit. email is from sky AT email.contact.sky which is used by sky for subscription changes etc. The email addresses me by full name, I'm 99.9% it's from Sky.
Calls CS and have been told it's a known issue - still scary if the issue isn't resolved and the system starts deleting email accounts...
May start moving important stuff over to another email service just in case...

Same here. I use the email account every day and is my main one. Received first email about it so I went to login via the web and sent a test message there. Today I get another email saying that I haven't used it and they will close it 24th Jan.
I've had this email since Sky broadband started. Not happy. Plus I'm paying them for TV service for over twenty years non-stop. I don't even watch it!

I have had the same messages and I use my account everyday. Tried logging onto main sky page to resolve but still got a reminder. I keep everything in my email account might need to start printing stuff or moving.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Gill621 I agree. I haven't received these reminders myself but I would also be concerned if I had despite already logging in via the Sky website.
I've no idea how these 'dormant' email accounts are being identified, but if it's the same process causing the warning emails to be sent, as the one which ultimately determines which accounts that are to be deleted, I'd be worried.
If you've used this process to log in:
1. Go to the top right corner, select Sign In and log in with your Sky iD.
2. Once you're signed in, select your name/username or the person icon in the top right corner and select Yahoo Mail.
and you're still getting the reminder letter, I'd give Sky a call.
Sadly I'd still not be confident that Sky can stop the deletion process, so would be forwarding important emails to another email account as a backup. Just my take on it.....

Yes, I called CS and they confirmed it has been sent in error
I'm worried that the error will not be fixed, as for forwarding important e-mails. That's impossible! I've had the account since 2008 - how do I create a copy of it !?!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe only way I can think of doing this is to use an app or program like Outlook, set it up as a IMAP account and once the emails have been downloaded change it to a POP one so if the worst should happen and your online account has been closed all your downloaded emails should be safe.

The bigger concern for me is my email is linked to most of my personal accounts for multi factor authentication and verification , it would be an utter nightmare if this was impacted , has anyone managed
to escalate or get any reassurance that accounts won't be deleted?
thanks
