If that email starts with something like "Dear User" or "Dear Sky e,ail user" then it is a scam email so mark it as spam as legitimate emails from Sky would address you by your first name.
As for the browser issue, do you use add-ons with it, perhaps disabling them all to see if it then works and if it does enable them one by one until you find the one that is causing the issue.
