Sky email and Outlook classic

I have to use Outlook classic 2024 on my laptop, I used to be able to add my sky email account using a 3rd party 16 digit 'App' Password.

I am now unable to find the password generator .

If this has been withdrawn Why, some people have to use Classic Outlook.....

Sky have withdrawn the 16 digit password generator for security reasons so if you  do have access to the password you had created previously and if when setting up the account as Ushoo and using your usual password doesn't work you will have to find an alternative way to access your emails perhaps by using outlook or by logging into the Sky website at Sky.com

It was removed & certain versions of Outlook classic aren't OAUTH 2.0 compatable so options are to upgrade to Outlook new or use a more secure email client like Thunderbird or last resort to read emails via the website.
I would've thought the 2024 version be compatable though, check for any updates. If none then what happens if you use the Yahoo option to set up the account.

Why do you have to use it?

There are a number of possible replacements, including New Outlook. If you explain your requirements, we may be able to suggest the best alternative.

Over the last week or two, I keep getting prompted via a Yahoo Web page pop up to sign into my account. Can't cancel out - have to do it. I've tried deleteing credentials, removing and re-adding the account in Outlook, but keeps happening. I have a feeling it's to do with two factor authentication but when you go to My Details -> Sky ID on Skys pages, the 'manage two step verification' option does literally nothing - it's a dead link! I'd also looked at tryin to create a app password as I think used to be an option (and Yahoo suggested I could), but Sky seem to have withdrawn that now too. Anyone else got this issue and managed to figure out how to fix? So frustrating!

The 'manage two step verification' should take you here: Manage two-step verification - Sky.com. Does that link work?

The app password generator has been removed, but any previously generated password will still work.

I really can't see any reason why Classic Outlook would take you to the web, I use it all day and that never happens to me.

That link for 2-step verification looks better thanks. The link I had was https://www.sky.com/mydetails/sky-id which still seems useless. Before reading your response I switched to new outlook to see if that works for me. So now I've taken the plunge, I'll see where it takes me. If I still get the issue, I'll change my 2 step verification.

It is odd that the problem arose. I did assume it was something I'd done, but within a week my wife got the same issue.
