I have recieved this email and the link takes you to what looks like a genuine site.. it asks for user name and password which i havent put in ... is it a scam .. ???

It is a scam so mark it as spam so it gets deleted and do the same should you be sent anymore. The way to tell is that Sky would never post a link in any email like that asking you to click it to keep an account active. The email address it has come from isn't a Sky one and you can see in the receivers email which should be yours is some random one which again isn't a Sky one.

Chances are the email is a scam. If you hover your mouse over any links it'll show the url - I bet this isn't a sky address.
