So I just wanted to share feedback of my recent issue (which is still
ongoing) of not being able to log in sky.com (yahoo mail) as need verification code which was not coming to me (sky mobile) And I didn't have the original (my fault)
After numerous calls to Sky I finally got the yahoo mail (reset/ turned off) what happens is when you then log in username then password you'll be prompted that once your in you be given your original and to make sure you make a note / screen shot etc.
NOW guess what didn't happen AGAIN the code DID NOT come to my mobile number even though it's correct- so I changed the number to my wife's (try a different number comes up which is first time I've seen that so tried different network 3) and instantly the code came to her I entered it - it worked for straight away -I got my like original to make sure I keep in case this ever happened again and I'm now into Yahoo Mail App- you will have to do the same (different number) when you click into yahoo mail via internet sky.com drop down box / yahoo mail. Then your done FINALLY, so pressure on Sky to get it reset and patience till it happens!
However this still does not solve the issue of NO 2 step verification codes coming to MY mobile number which Sky is the Operator (Outlook/Yahoo etc etc).
I was on Vodafone for years and years tried Sky now for 12 months and this has forced my hand to return now (to Vodafone) still got everything else with Sky but this process / handling of this and lack of knowledge from people you call is frightning, thankfully I found this community so so helpful thanks to all who me have helped and I hope this post helps someone in same position - in a nutshell it seems it's commutation issues via Sky mobile , just search MYGP / Sky Mobile Issues.
.....Did not receive a verification code – Sky Mobile customers
We are aware that Sky Mobile customers are not receiving text messages from myGP for their verification code and a number of other types of message sent by our parent company iPLATO.
This issue has been investigated and the root cause has been identified as an issue owned by Sky Mobile. We are working with Sky Mobile to resolve the issue.
Our apologies for the inconvenience this may be causing you.

Setting up 2 step login isn't mandatory. You can ignore the prompt on the login screen.
Setup can't be completed unless an initial Verification Code is successfully received, so if there's a problem with receiving the code when you initially try to set up 2 step login, the setup won't be completed.
If 2 step login completes successfully, be absolutely sure to make a separate note of the Recovery Code when it's displayed on screen, and keep your note securely, and indefinitely. It's the easiest way to turn off 2 step login if there's a problem in the future.
The Recovery Code is also sent to your email address, but,if you can't access your email account (because you're not receiving the login Verification Code, for example) that won't be of any use to you.
