Outlook mail not connecting

having finally got outlook to create the sky/yahoo mailbox it's now not connecting due to password not recognised. I swear to god if I didn't have everything in there I'd ditch this ISP ! 

 

Is the Server behaving or is it just my system?

 

Running a Mac and Outlook

As well as using the app password did you use the settings I posted as well ?

Your image can't be shown as it displays your email address so if you can blank this out you can post it again if you want.

 

Try these settings for your account, set it up as Other and not as Yahoo:

 

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes


Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes


You will then need to generate a 16 digit password and use that instead of your usual one, you can do that here:
https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps?client=email

Ditching the ISP won't get your email working..

You probably just need to use a generated password.

Hi I've tried the app password and I've reset my password. 

My email works in other programs just gives this error in Outlook

I tried the settings you gave but it was no different. The app password did work though which was great, I just can't understand why this problem is with Outlook!

 

I'll just have to ensure I don't need to reset the email in the future!

It needs the generated password because Outlook isn't compatible with the OAuth method Yahoo use. In fact (AFAIK) it isn't compatible with any OAuth except Gmail.
