Noverification code sent

On my desktop the verification code is not sent to my mobile and I don't have a recovery code I've never been given one ! Calls to sky have not sorted this

@sandypete sorry, but you were given a Recovery Code. 2 step verification cannot be set up successfully until you acknowledge that you've made a note of it. 

 

Without the Recovry Code you'll have to persevere with asking Sky to turn off 2 step verification for you. They do have a process for doing so.

Hopefully after being on phone to sky for over an hour this will be sorted in 72 .hours . I had to make a new email address and hopefully 2 step verfication will be turned off . The adviser said not every one was sent a recovery code and I am not the only one to have this happen to. I also can't get on to my sky account on my desktop .Will have to see what happens after the 72 hours  . Fingers crossed !

@sandypete actually nobody is sent a Recovery Code. It's displayed on screen. 2 step verification setup cannot complete without you acknowledging that you've seen it. 

 

Not sure why you would have to create a new email address, but let's hope the adviser has correctly put the wheels in motion to turn off 2 step verification for you.

What do you mean by this, how did you make a new email address seeing as it hasn't been possible to create a new Sky one for a few years now. I hope this is sorted for you but I have my doubts as some advisers are known to say things will be fixed within 24,48 or 72 hours when there is more often than not the case.

Not a sky email address at all but a new gmail one that they used to email me with a code to verify it was me ......we will see ,at least I can get my emails on my phone but I am unable to print them of from there .

@sandypete if Sky have successfully turned off 2 step verification, you'll be prompted to set it up again when you log in. If you do, be sure to make a note of the code displayed on screen to avoid the pain of a repetition!

Not tried that yet .Just wanted to get my emails back .I can log into my sky on my mobile .

I'm confused, you said it was the desktop you couldn't log into.
