Issues with sky yahoo email

One of my sky yahoo email accounts isn't working (actually stopped months ago). Continually says can't get emails as account error and that I need to re-enter password.  Every time I try it says there's a problem and to try again in an hour.  
It's said this every single time for the last 4 if not 5 months.  These are the 2 messages I keep getting.

Anyone know if it will ever work again??

That link takes me to my main email

account which is working fine.  It's an additional one that I can't log into 😕

Logout of your main email and try logging into your additional one via it to see what happens.

That error normally occurs when trying to add an account, not log into one.

 

If you are trying to add the account to Outlook the work-around is to select not Yahoo and then set it up using the following settings:

 

Account Settings:  

Username:Your full Sky email address (e.g.  username@sky.com)
Password:16-digit app password Generate an app password
Incoming Mail Host Name / Server:imap.tools.sky.com (for IMAP) or pop.tools.sky.com (for POP3)
Security Type:SSL
Port:993 (for IMAP) or 995 (for POP3)
Outgoing Mail Server:smtp.tools.sky.com
Security Type:SSL
Port:465

I should add, when generating the app password, make sure you are logged into the correct account.

Thanks.  I'm not trying to add anything just re-enter the password to an existing account which is already there.  It just won't let me put the password back in.

Then the problem is basically what I was describing. Putting the password in to an existing account will be just like adding a new account, it will need to use the OAuth servers, and they are what appear to be playing up at the moment.

As the account is already setup as an OAuth one, it won't be possible to change it, so reinstalling it as "Not Yahoo" will be the best solution.

Outlook will allow you to add it again, so do that as a "Not Yahoo" IMAP account using the info I gave earlier, and once it is working delete the original account.

Thanks.  I don't have an option of Not Yahoo though?  This is what my screen looks like.

That's because it's the login screen. As @jayach posted, you'll need to remove your Sky Yahoo Mail account from the Yahoo Mail app and then add it back again. which will give you the option of a 'not Yahoo' account

Not quite sure how you get that page, You should be tring to add a account, and the first page should look like this:

 @jayach I have no idea where you're seeing that screen? There's nothing like that on my phone.

I've deleted the account, tried adding it again using both Yahoo and other on the screen below and it's still telling me I need to enter a password.  No matter what I do it won't work.  Giving up now!  Thanks for your help

From that screen @Skyarerubbish select Other then use these settings;

 

Incoming Server (imap):

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes


Outgoing Server (smtp):

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes


You will then need to generate a 16 digit password and use that instead of your usual one, you can do that here:

I understand you may have given up now, but I'm intrigued as to why you are seeing completely different screens to me.

I seem to remember seeing those screens a while ago, so I'm wondering what version of Outlook you are using..

I'm using Outlook on Android, version 4.2318.12, which appears to be the latest on the PlayStore, what are you using?

If you select Yahoo! on that screen it should take you to the OAuth challenge where you will need your sky email address and password.

If you select Other it should give you the option to input the details @caesarome has given, and use a generated password instead of your usual sky one.  https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps

I hope you decide to try again, I personally would hate to lose my Sky email address, but if keeping it became too difficult, yes I would give up and use another one.
