Emails sent without permission
A number of emails were sent to a large number of my contacts without my knowledge or permission. I only discovered this when two of my contacts called me to say they had received emails from me saying that I needed a favour, plus a large number of emails were sent to contact who no longer exist, and were rejected.

Re: Emails sent without permission
Did you recently reply to an message asking you to verify/update your email?
If so you gave your credentials to a scammer.
So, anyway, someone has access to your account, so change your password immediately.
Once you have done that you wll need to correct any changes they have made to your account.
When logged into Sky|Yahoo mail (preferably on a desktop browser, not a mobile) go to Settings - More settings - Filters and remove any you find there.
Also check under Settings - More settings - Mailboxes, select your Sky mailbox and check the Reply-to address hasn't been changed.
Those are the changes the scammers usually make, so after that it should be O.K.

Re: Emails sent without permission
Hi jayach
Yes. I did reply to what looked like an 'official' SKY post, asking me to update my email, as this hadn't been done for more than a year! Fortunately, I have a very good computer repair company close to me. I trust them, and they managed to sort everything out remotely.
But thanks for your reply, as you've pointed out where I made the mistake of replying to the scammers email. I'm much obliged.

Re: Emails sent without permission
With these emails the thing to remember is that Sky will never send you an email out of the blue asking you to update anything so should you be sent more then mark these as spam emails and keep doing this.
