OK re sign out update

PC is x2 people each with own PC a/c.

T'other person signed me out - and so had to re-enter from teh startt the 2 stage verification.

@piepowder not sure what your point is. That would be expected behaviour.

Re: Disabling 2 factor verification

complaint sent to SKY vis e-mail link provided about lack of opt out clause that is usual practice and how SKY reputation is plumetting and that if a user misses a critical e-mail due to the palaver of compulsory requiring a mobile phone and must use code within 10 minutes (ever lost a phone - put it somewhere, or, turned off as people do) creating panic, then for a missed critical e-mail then SKY is potentially liable as no opt out feature whereby user carries risk

I suspect Sky's terms and conditions cover off any such liability.

That's not really true, if you have a Sky email address, you have a Sky account, just not an active one.

Can you log in here: https://www.sky.com with your email address and password?

Ring them again, and don't let them take the easy way out.

Re: Disabling 2 factor verification

@Mark39

I wouldn't be so sure of their policy strength given the number of swift unannounced changes and for exxample gmail does not as far as I am aware demand / impose 2 stage verification. As to liability - well if a person is dependent upon e-mail communication then, for example if they are elder or infirm (as a number are from my own observation) then they are being put at risk if using SKY. Their alternative is to sign up to A N Other e-mail service - if they know how. The "there is always someone to help" does not exactly occur and particularly so if the user is unaware how / why they have failed to get expected e-mails. I have witnessed a number of older people getting into a tizz when technology fails. Having T's & C's may bring a degree of presumed comfort to corporate beings and lawyers - that however is no proof of resilience. One may recall Northen Rock bank failure and the need to stress test other banks - some of which failed. From risk management terms if no evidence of testing for issues then there is no risk assessment and so vulnerability is built in. Having a policy is a flimsy defence if not tested in action. Flimsy defencess get exposed - Post Office / Horizon inter alia numerous other cases

@piepowder go ahead and take it up with Sky. Oh, I see you already have. Let us know what they say.
