Change email password for Thunderbird

I have 2 passwords for my sky email account.

I have a normal memorable password that works for almost eveything (webmail, tablet, sky account etc)

I have a long computer generated password that Sky helped me to set up some time ago to use with Thunderbird email progame on a Windows 7 desktop.

As a part of a security spring clean I have changed the normal password OK but also want to change the one used for Thunderbird, but have no idea how to do that ?

Anyone able to help, many thanks.

You'll need to generate a new app pasword. There's a link to the app password generator here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/problems-accessing-sky-mail-from-your-email-app

Re: Change email password for Thunderbird

Thanks, but does that mean the old password can be used with my account for something other then Thunderbird ? If so how do I just kill the old password ?

Thanks, again

I believe, yes it does.

And Sky have removed the ability to rescind app passwords.

Crazy.
