Apple Mail does not recognise username/password – Sky webmail does?

Strange one here. Both my husband and I have separate mailboxes in Apple Mail. After a recent upgrade I have the little lightning symbol next to my inbox, my husband doesn't. Going through the process of trying to sign in I'm told my username/password does not exist. However if I access Sky Webmail with the exact same username and password there is no issue. Anyone know if this is a bug/is there a fix? We've tried setting up a new account within Apple mail for me but it just says I can't use the sky address and we are going round in circles. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try logging in here and generating a 16 digit password, then use this instead of the password you previously entered with Apple Mail:

 

https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps?client=email

 

If that doesn't work then you could also try setting your Sky email account up as a Yahoo one if you are asked to select a provider when setting it up.
