wifi keeps dropping out

Hello, my son is at my home at the moment and whilst he was working on his laptop the wifi kept dropping out throughout the day.  We've checked the service status and everything seems ok.  Could you please help

Does this happen when he is right next to your broadband hub or is it only happening in a certain room or rooms ?
