I am paying an extra £4 a month for Sky WiFi Max, which is supposed to guarantee speeds in EVERY ROOM and utilize WiFi 6 technology for faster and more reliable connections. This wasn't the case even in my old house, but back then I was able to connect my computer via an Ethernet cable, so it wasn't a huge issue.
We recently moved house and took Sky with us. I knew in advance that I wouldn't be able to connect my computer (located on the opposite side of the house) to the router (in the living room) via Ethernet. Because of this, I specifically asked the Openreach engineers during installation if this would be an issue. They assured me that there wouldn't be any problems, claiming I have the fastest possible connection on copper lines and a dedicated line..
Well, that turned out to be wrong. The WiFi is not working in every room as promised with Sky WiFi Max. Specifically, where I need it most (my computer), it is not stable at all. I get two bars at best, and the connection drops every few minutes. I could use some random extender from Amazon, but then why I am paying extra for connection in every room?
Is there any way to improve this? I am unable to move the router or the master socket, as we live in a detached house and are limited on where we can drill for cables. Also I am not able to move computer elsewhere because of children. Thank you.
