sky hub max issues
Issues wuth new Sky Max hub - upgraded to this hub as previous had expired. sold as the new "best ever" hub. after wasting a day setting up, and it constantly dropping out - booked engineer, and reverted to my old hub in the meantime.
He arrived today - basically saying this is a constant issue with the new hubs and they arent fit for purpose, thinks it is the WiFi6 causing the issues! The old hub is fab, with connection all OK, so stick with that. Be interested if others have had same experience with it.

Re: sky hub max issues
The Max hub is a next gen hub but isn't without a few teething problems.
The biggest issue is nothing to do with WiFi 6 but WPA3. While most modern devices support the newer and improved WiFi security protocol, many homes are full of devices which are not compatible, and the WiFi security needs rolling back to WPA2 (via the MySky App) to ensure older devices can function correctly on the network.
The hub uses cloud technology in the back end and further issues can occur with this, for example if not correctly onboarded to your account.
With that in mind the engineer shouldn't really have swapped the hub 6 for a hub 4. Because of the different backend system, My Sky app and systems used by Sky to check your connection, etc. will not work once you've moved onto a hub 6. You can't manage your devices and remote troubleshooting is impossible.
There are pros and cons to the hub 6, but for the average user it should perform better than previous hubs once it's been setup correctly.

Re: sky hub max issues
Yes had the same problem and still having issues, sky engineers come out said it was a fault on the line and BT engineer was booked, BT came out no fault found and speeds are fine, put the hub back in and the speed drops, makes no sense. I have asked for the old hub back but they can't do that, wish I never bothered now the amount you pay and it don't work!! Not great when you are working from home.
