sky broaband & talk delay
Contracted Sky Broadband, Talk & Sky TV package on 02 MAR 2026. and was given a start date of 16 MAR 2026.
After many weeks and my strong representations, we got three engineers visits trying to find the way of fiber into my house, we finally got a clever one that found that there was already a duct from the main"box" , right to the edge of my property and just an extra 3.5 meters would need tobe escavated and the fiber installed. on 27 May 2026 by Kelly group on behalf of Openreach.
The Sky wifi engineers would come after to set up the service araound the house
Note -During the contract signing, I extensively explained that my house might need 3-4 boosters(pods) due to the structural steel frame of the house as well as the office attached to the house in the garden, Then :
Meanwhile no telephone set has arrived and aparently I was supposed to buy myself(nobody told me that)
I order one set of 4 that arrived the nesxt day.
On 03 Jun the first SKY engineers ( especialist in wifi deployment) come to start our wifi. with no extra pods. He told me that the HUB was placed under the stairs which was the wrong place. It should be moved to the Loung in the middle of the house for beter reception.
Sky would not move it without extra cost.
He could not give us wifi on the whole house, and would send a coleague with the extra pod, which he did not have.
On 10 JUn - Simon the second SKY engineer come, with ONE pod and after various tests, we run a speed test, and in various places around the house ( the ones that we could get wifi I was getting 30 - 50 mbps . SImon told me that SKY only guarantee 900mpbs( my plan) up to the house, butinside the guaranty was minimum 25mbps.
He refused to look at the office, saying that it was"outside the house", although his coleague has placed a pod there but was not getting good reception. (Our office is attached to the houw but acces is via 5 steps through the patio.) . I was so frusttated that I forgot to ask him about the phone set up.
THe phone could not be used untill the hub was moved to the lounge.
I decided to take matter my self and contracted an engineer to move the HUB to the lounge and re-wire it direct to the office, This had a cost of over £ 600,00 . But we were happy when we achieved 980 mbps/ 1gbps in the office and the lounge.
However our happiness was short lived when we realizaed that the wifi was not working in the office and at the front of the house (for our ring cameras) . The two pods left by SKY do not work anywhere . the light never stop flashing. WE have a very poor coverage of wifi in the office which does not allow proper use of our mobiles and our wireless printers.
AS of today 07 JULY we do not have a proper coverage aparently the phone signal does not reach every part of the house/ I am not sure how to proceed to get the landline(Talk) working.
I was assigned an agent to give me support - Tahir, but I have lost contact and have not heard from him again.
Any suggestions?

Sky will allocate a maximum of three Max pods at an address: after that they'll just suggest you claim the one month refund (which is what's actually 'guaranteed'). Realistically any domestic ISP is only going to spend a limited amount of time and resources on a challenging wireless environment: they aren't obliged to lose money doing so.

Of all the ISPs only BT offers handsets (on some packages) because only they have a century in the phone hardware business.

The responsibility of the ISP ends with a handset connected by cable to the router: they have no way to improve DECT signal.
