poor wifi

renewed contract NEVER had an issue with WiFi in 18months , but since renewing contract and upgrading to gigafast my WiFi speed is 12.4 mb previously it was 72mb in the lower broadband package 6 phonecalls 6 £10 admin fees later for trying to fix issue including sky advise I need a pod £10 admin fee £4 monthly to be able to get WiFi in my bedroom which I had for 18months without pod and lower package , TV unwatchable now as always buffering sky DO NOT read or listen to the issue they just read a script hence why I got talked into getting pod to fix issue they are actualy a joke , they have no solution to why I only get 12.4 but my next door neighbor BT 900 mb gives me 592mb via WiFi on my same phone same Google speed check but back onto my WiFi 12.4 905mb shows coming into hub but useless if can't even watch a 4k movie as it's constantly buffering and lagging .

Re: poor wifi

@syder21 When you went to FF900 did you also go sky Max at that same point. Do you still have your old sky Broadband Hub, same as the max but black in colour or have you sent it back to sky. Linked below also the max info, but take a look at your wireless securities via your app and see if it is on WPA2-PSK mode.

Sky Max change settings link.

Re: poor wifi

yes sky max sky pod still 12.4 Google speed test over WiFi ,previously on sky fibre 500 an got 72 mb same test never a issue , sky not interested in my low WiFi speed I've tried live chat , 6 phone calls and 2 calls to retention team which resulted in more admin charges and a pod to pay for which is of no help , I've now switched today to BT no fees , I bet now I'm leaving sky contact me wanting to fix the broadband issue .

Re: poor wifi

@syder21 Got it, the only advice i am going to throw out is if BT push you to EE then the EE Smarthub+/Pro router's are not going to be as possibly you expect, i quit EE back in Mar as they FW updated and KILLED a perfectly working Network overnight that is how bad it went!

Do hope BT is what you get, EE forget it!

@syder21

As I noted in response to your other post, the white Max Hub appears to significantly underperform in some properties.

You absolutely shouldn't have been charged an admin fee for a call relating to fault-finding.
