Hi
Im about to order full fiber broadband. I understand its to be installed by openreach but cant find any details as to whether they need to dig up my garden to lay the fiber or if they can use the existing ducting laid when I had virgin media broadband installed.
Can anyone advise as I have a ton of planting down the side of the driveway that would be disturbed/damaged by being dug up by less than careful engineers.
thanks
GBT

Typically Openreach cannot use the ducting laid by Virgin because that's their private property (even when running through your land)

Are virgin likely to remove the fiber cable and trunking when i end the contract with them?
If not, i doubt they would send a team to check whether some other company has taken advantage of their gear😉 (seeing as they cant even be bothered to answer my query via email!)

No, Virgin won't, but Openreach personnel cannot break their own protocols. Virgin ducts are private property.
