can I upgrade my broadband from 145mb to 500mb paying the same price of £33.00 in sky Sale

Dear Sky Community,

I have less than 5 month of my Sky package of 145mb paying £33.00 a month. After watching Martin Lewis last Tuesday he said broadband customer could increase their speeds but paying the price of you existing package.

According to their Money Save Forum the 500mb costs £33.00 a month but customers with the £1.45 package should upgrade to 500mb because you have upgrade your package for a faster speed and start a new contact for 18 months.

Martin Lewis said existing custome should have the same offer as new customers according to Ofcom and he is pressing to remove mid contact price rises to the end of the contact.

The question asks can Sky customer upgrade to prices listed in the January Sale in 2024 and be given a new contract for a better speed but paying the same price of the existing broadband contract.

If you are on fttp then you can upgrade your package at any point during your contract and recontract for a new offer

if you are on gfast then you cannot as ultrafrast is the only package on this technology type

He can campaign for that as he sees fit, but it's not current practice within the industry or required by Ofcom.
