I guess I could use the original sky router as router only and then use the Asus as the main Wi-Fi feed ? Any thoughts
cheers

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI am confused as to what you are asking, if your Asus router is working fine directly connected to the FTTP ONT why would you put the Sky router back?

Sorry if it's confusing. The original question was for a diff mesh node. And the 2nd response was after reading some have used their sky router on router only mode so thought someone might have done that.
Reasoning I was then thinking I could put the Asus more in the middle of the house I maybe wrong.
sorry for confusing things.

As for the mesh node, any of the Asus units should do, it all depends on how much coverage you want and the WiFi standard you want (WiFi 5, 6 or 6e)

When the ax mini worked it was fine. I was shocked that the tele support didn't want to know. 😳

After quite a bit of research for my own interest, it appears to be any of the extendable AI mesh routers or extenders would be fine.
You want to match the AX speed to avoid any slower connections and make sure it has enough LAN sockets if you need them. Another RT-AX58u would work nicely in mesh mode but it might be overkill for your needs.
I bought a TUF-ax6000 with the intention of getting another aiMesh device if needed but the improvement over a Sky Hub negates the need.
