Worst customer service

I have just moved from Virgin Media to Sky. I received excellent customer service moving over. However after the installation. The internet connection was lost and I realised I needed the engineer out again. This is after following all trouble shooting recommendations.

It seems I can only receive technical support once I have registered. However Sky will not allow me to register for some reason. It does not accept my log in details, specifically the card number I used to purchase the package. No log in. No support. Even the online bot is at a loss at what I should do. The technical support line rings out. Another technical support number provided by the bot does not work. I still have my Virgin media boxes and am seriously considering ripping out the sky boxes. Never had this issue receiving support with VM.

@Lou+leahy

Not sure what you mean by logging in?

Contacting Sky by dialling 150 free from your Sky Talk landline is the quickest method.

Re: Worst customer service

I don't have a Sky landline.
as part of joining Sky tv/ broadband I was required to register my new account (equipment) - this it will not let me do. I have tried various methods.

I have spent 2.5hrs this morning trying to resolve this.

I even called the engineer who carried out the installation last Thursday - however he informed me he was just a sub contractor

I am at a loss as to how to resolve this

You have a Sky Talk landline as it's bundled with your broadband package but you have chosen not to connect an actual handset which is fine.

If you buy a cheap handset you only need to plug it in when you need to call Sky when there's an issue.

Re: Worst customer service

So I need to leave my house, drive to a store and buy a phone in order to receive basic technical support? This just seems ridiculous. I am not going to do this. I was never advised by Sky that I needed to call them from a landline - that I didn't even know that I had!!! Absolute nonsense.
I will return to Virgin media today if this isn't resolved. It's just not worth the stress

@Lou+leahy

You can't only call from a landline. I didn't say that. I said it was the quickest and easiest method. You stated you didn't have a landline but I reminded you that you do in fact have the means to attach a handset.

The current methods for contacting Sky are below and depending on the reason for making contact some methods will be more appropriate than others……

🟦 📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or a Sky Talk landline. The forum doesn’t allow the display of other numbers. Other official numbers to Sky from the UK are 03 numbers which are normally inclusive from non Sky phones.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

🟦 online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.

🟦 Sky Assistant 💬 should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

🟦 Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

🟨Note ~ ROI customers If you’re in the ROI make sure the flag in the bottom right of the link is showing the correct flag and change if required. The Sky Ireland phone lines are closed at a weekend.

And just in case you're not aware, you aren’t communicating with Sky by posting on here. This is a customer ➡️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other Sky customers.

Re: Worst customer service

Thank you

I have already tried 2 customer support lines that I managed to locate - one of which just rings out and the other does not work.

I have also reached out on social media.

Shocking is the day that there is no human to talk to and no bot to annoy
