Re: Wireless network Security Key
Thank you for answering so quickly but this does not resolve it. I'll go into the details now.
I changed to fibre and superfast broadband several months ago and I have had my desktop set up correctly and working properly since then - I know all my details including the password. I have been trying to update my laptop today (my 2nd device) for the first time which has not been used since the broadband changes. I cannot get the internet/wi-fi connection. It has found my correct Sky router name and asked for the security key. I typed in the password several times but it says it is wrong. I then used the suggested alternative and I pressed the reset button on my router but that also does not resolve the problem. I re-checked all the settings on my desk top and they are working fine and I just cannot get the laptop to recognise them. Are you certain that the network security ID is the password? I thought that this may be different.
I would greatly appreciate further assistance from you or someone else.

Re: Wireless network Security Key
@222David Yes the ssid/password is what are required to connect to a wireless network, the fact that your laptop see's the network name, does NOT accept the password assuming that you are putting it in correctly as you see it, has to be exact upper/lower case numbers letters etc. If it fails at that point and you are 100% sure you did it right then the laptop just does not like something for the connection!
Now it al becomes about what sky hub you have and what to do!

Re: Wireless network Security Key
If you are seeing an error about entering the wrong Wifi password then make sure you are not getting a 1 and l or a 0 and O muddled as it is quite easy to do this. It must also be entered as show on the hub itself so use upper case letting if required.

Re: Wireless network Security Key
Finally - success! Thanks to both of you for helping. I was entering the correct password each time but to no avail. I then tried unchecking the "connect automatically" box and changed to the manual option and then it worked first time. Both the automatic and manual options require the security number (password) but only manual worked for me. May be this is only my device - or perhaps this option might be useful for others with a similar problem?
Your time is much appreciated.
