Window Replacement - Sky Broadband and TV

Hi everyone,

My Dad is a pensioner. A broken sash window needs to be replaced in his house. He has BT broadband and a Sky Q box and he wants to change to Sky Broadband (Fibre), and get a Sky Stream puck. The problem is the broken sash window has the BT cable coming through the frame with the old GPO connector sitting loose on the window ledge inside. This needs to be sorted before the window can be replaced. Would the Sky engineer sort this for him? Obviously cost is a concern. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

@KSbytheSea you may not have seen the edit to my last post, about full fibre, as it was posted at the same time as your reply.

Sky can carry out some phone socket / cable relocations, so yes, give them a call.

Sky won't arrange the repair of the broken sash window, but they (or BT) may be able to help with installing a modern master ohone socket and relocating the cable entry. Best to speak directly to one or the other.

If your dad is looking at full fibre broadband, with a separate fibre optic cable installed in his home, the existing phone line will become redundant.

Thanks Mark, that was quick! We don't want them to repair the window - sorry if that was a bit misleading. We just don't know who to contact to move the socket and the cable. I guess we'll have to speak to Sky first and see what they can do.

@KSbytheSea Nice OR/Sky Engineer will disconnect and pull the cable out cut it back as it will be off zero use, better just make sure that there are NO red flag's for your dad getting what he needs!
