Wifi dropping intermittently

ntermittent broadband fault – unable to report fault through Service Checker

I'm having an intermittent problem with my Sky broadband. The connection keeps dropping, but when I run the Sky Service Checker it says that my broadband and Wi-Fi are working normally.

The problem is that because the connection happens to be working when I run the checker, there is no option for me to actually report the intermittent fault.

Switching the router off at the wall for 30 seconds and then switichg it back on only fixes the probelm for a day, then it returns. I have also held the WPS button down on the router for 30 seconds but again this only fixes the problem for a day.

I've also tried contacting Sky by phone, but I am only able to get through to the automated system, which sends me back to the Service Checker. I therefore cannot get this fault reported or speak to someone who can investigate it.

Please could a Sky employee/community moderator escalate this to the Community Messaging team so that I can speak to a Sky adviser about the intermittent broadband fault?

The problem is ongoing and I need the connection checked for intermittent drops rather than simply tested at one particular moment.

Re: Wifi dropping intermittently

Its the poor router that Sky supply that causes this problem.

Re: Wifi dropping intermittently

Sky would probably advise you to pay extra for wifi max.  I did pay a extra £4 a month for this as they said it was a better router but they didnt tell me I needed to request a Sky Pod which makes the WIFI work.   Wifi worked well with my previous suppliers without a wifi extender
