WiFi not consistent
Signal not as strong as I hoped and neither the speed as fast I would have expected. Seems to be a lot of areas where the signal drops off around the house.
Speeds vary massively from room to room.

Re: WiFi not consistent
Sky loans wireless booster hardware 'free' under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online but Sky won't offer support with using these, and Max pods acquired that way won't work at all.
Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.

Re: WiFi not consistent
I already have 3 boosters from Sky. Sometimes they connect sometimes they don't.

Re: WiFi not consistent
Yes they've been round to advise where is the best position. I've even had the router moved to a more central location. Not getting anywhere near the speeds or coverage promised

Re: WiFi not consistent
@D5EEP Was it established that you did indeed require to have ALL 3 booster's as needed to cover the property, mesh systems are not easy to work out, and having too much mesh is just as bad as having not enough, would advise you if you do not already have so a form of wi-fi analyser on a mobile device if that is your method off checking to see what is going on, pay particular attention the the Channels that ALL are using in the 5Ghz band and the hidden wireless wi-fi backhaul is indeed working!
When the POD nodes are non functional what is it that you are seeing on those as they drop off the network!

Re: WiFi not consistent
Yes it was confirmed by the engineer that all 3 were needed due to the size/length of the property.
I don't have any other mesh system installed. It's a building with solid brick walls and not a modern build with mainly plaster boards. Even relatively short distances appeared to be an issue for what the engineer described from the hallway to one of the rooms for the two boosters to connect to each other due to a wall!
The frequency was set to 5Ghz has mentioned.

Re: WiFi not consistent
@D5EEP My home is the same built in the 50's so solid brick walls and all that entails, but did place my main router strategically and then have 3 mesh nodes placed to cover as required. Not using any sky ISP equipment anymore but will say the SR203 and the associated SE210 covered most as a wi-fi with a few spot's not done by the two off them! Not sure how or any adjustments that have been made to your sky Max hub and if nothing you may wish to think about that. Link below about the max as a starting point!. It is all running wi-fi 6 but pegged back in wireless wpa2-psk and all seperated bands frequency wise not that you can do it sky Max hub wise but some adjustment may help!
It's not everyones forte to adjust or work out, so you may just need to get sky involved again to assist, but the more you work it out the better it will be for the sky Engineer to get the feel for what is going on! Wireless wi-fi GOOD and up but speed cannot be your major complaint!

Re: WiFi not consistent
Thanks for you help and support but I'm not comfortable with making changes as you've suggested as it's a bit out of my depth and understanding. I will have to reach out to Sky again to see if there is any other options/settings as you've suggested.
my copper installation was slow but reliable and covered the house. However, this new WiFi 6 technology doesn't appear to have the same coverage. The older system was better were the Sky Q box and the mini boxes also helped boost the signal.
