WiFi and Broadband issues

Last few days my wifi and broadband keeps intermittently disconnecting or running very slow. BT Openreach have been doing cabling work along our road and I am concerned they have done something? Or the router has a fault? Very difficult to work at home, which I do it for my 4 children to connect their devices for school work or pleasure.
