WiFi Wireless and Wired Connection Issues

I work from home one day a week and use a HP laptop with 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1345U 1.60 GHz and Windows 11 Enterprise for both in the office and home.

When in the office, I am connected via ethernet and have zero issues.

Whenever I work from home, my WiFi always struggles to load anything apart from Outlook and Zoom. Anything else I try to use i.e. Google Chrome, Microsoft Teams or our internal system can never load. All other devices connected wirelessly to the same broadband are not affected and work as should i.e. Mobile, TV.

I have recently used an ethernet cable to try and solve this issue, but I still get the same problem with connectivity.

Has anyone else had this issue before, or know what may be the reason for not being able to load other programs?

I have also tried the standard resetting the WiFi, the box itself is in an open space away from other devices and we also have a WiFi booster nearby.

Appreciate any help as I'll have to go back into the office full time if I can resolve this soon!

Re: WiFi Wireless and Wired Connection Issues

Hi @JP247

I have experienced this issue recently. It may be that the IPv6 protocol is not enabled on your router. The fix is straightforward: You can disable IPv6 on both your Wi-Fi and Ethernet adaptor on your computer. You will find a step-by-step guide at https://support.nordvpn.com/hc/en-us/articles/19919186892305-How-to-disable-IPv6-on-Windows

I hope this works for you.

My best,

Matt
