We are struggling with good WiFi connection upstairs, I've fitted 2 WiFi sockets upstairs which one is above the room where the modem is located and it's not connecting.
I've been told by a broadband engineer that they should connect especially as it's in the room above.
We thought that it we went full fibre we'd have a better connections but this is not the case.
Looking forward to your reply and solutions many thanks Nigel Eyre

Sky boosters or another brand?

FTTP cannot by itself have any effect on challenging local WiFi conditions.

I'd suggest that while those are neat little devices their performance is going to be inherently hampered by their form-factor, their location embedded in a wall (particularly if in a metal back-box) and their proximity to mains cabling.
I suspect they aren't using Powerline networking for backhaul, which would be preferable to WiFi.

I'd also note they are 802.11n ( 'WiFi 4', so a fifteen year old wireless standard) and suspiciously cheap on the Screwfix site.
The manufacture appears to specify a maximum range and significantly caveats their performance in the product description, which is unusual.

Powerline might well be more effective, although it does depend on the mains cabling in the particular property.
