Wi fi poor in new extension

Hello we have just put a new extension on the side of our house and the Wi-Fi signal/speed now poor, can anyone recommend what we can do? We have had a telephone socket fitted in the extension. I have fitted one of those wi fi sockets plate but that's not much better

regards

@Gary123456789 ideally you would have run an ethernet cable while the extension was being built but assuming that is impratical now buying powerline adapter kit should work assuming the extension is piwered from the houses consumer unit. These use the mains cables to carry the data and can comecwith built-in wifi access points. Wifi boosters rarely work but if you have one mountbitvroughly halfway between the hub and the extension as they need a strong signal to work.

Difficult to know what the 'wifi socket' is doing, but I'd note they are a very bad shape and location for wireless propagation.

Unfortunately a telephone extension cable cannot carry data: as @Chrisee observes, these days it's rather more useful to install ethernet cable.
