Why dosent WPS work on my hub

I have a sky Max hub and it has been troublesome since I got it!

The security setting setting are too high for old tech and I have had to change them so it can connect. The latest problem is my HP print trying to connect it to the Internet. I tryed to uses the WPS button on the side of the router excepting it to turn amber to connect the printer but to no avail what is wrong with this router that it's a BIG Pain trying to connect to anything!

@red+rover

A Max Hub needs a short button press to trigger WPS, because some design genius decided that a long press on the same button is a hardware reset back to factory settings.

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work even with a short press of the button.

I give up

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

Did you get it to work? My Max hub WPS doesn't seem to do anything either. I've pressed it for more than 30 seconds which should reset it, but nothing happens. I can't connect the Sky Q boxes either and the boxes aren't accepting the WiFi if I put it in manually either.

@LR1984 & @red+rover theindication that the Sky Max hub is in wps listening mode is a blue flashing light just hold the WPS button in for 5 seconds. If it flashes green you have pressed too long and it is resetting itself.

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

I only ever get a white light on the front, it doesn't change to blue or green. I'll keep trying though.

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

Thanks I've used the links already to try and connect the hub to the q boxes. The WPS isn't responding when I press it for either 5 seconds to connect to the q box, or even when pressing for over a minute. The light stays white, not blue or green.

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

@LR1984 Have a look at the wireless securities settings off the Max hub with your app, are you on wps3-t or wpa2-psk?

But will say that the factory reset not working in the 30+second time is very confusing!

@JimM1 looks like it says WPA3

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

@LR1984 Then expect the wps button to be disabled!

@JimM1 Oh! How do I change it? Or can't it be changed? I'm not very technical.

Re: Why dosent WPS work on my hub

@LR1984 Post number 6, 2nd link shows you what to do, and you need to do it through the MySky app on your mobile, in true WPA3 mode, then a WPS has no function whatsoever and is NOT allowed for working so that may be the case and the reason why you see it not blue light but the scary bit is why does it not reset on the 30sec+ hold in for a factory reset!

Your looking for Advanced settings and the WiFi security level, wpa2-psk would be advised to start with!
