Hi all
I am looking to understand why-when I look at broadband deals page it shows my contract as ending in June 2025. For summary i moved house in January 2024 and took sky tv and broadband with me. My existing Sky broadband contract ended in Nov 23.
My existing contract states:
If you change Address:
(i) This Contract will continue unless you exercise a right to end it under this Contract.
I was not made aware of any renewal and there is nothing that states such in my messages/ information when moving home.
If someone could help shed some light on this, appreciate the help. thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreMoving home will not impact your TV contract and it will continue as normal. If you have broadband/ Talk however, this will be a new contract as Sky have to cancel the line at the old address and take a new one in the new address.

Hi Daniel
Thanks very much for your help, I have seen this stated in other posts however there seems to be nowhere this is stated in contract or any of the communications provided to me.
I have read through all the contracts and it states the broadband contract will continue unless cancelled.
Is there some remote small print somewhere I have missed maybe? It seems to me Sky agreed to move my broadband without notifying me either in chat or communications of renewal of contract.
Thanks for further advice! I am happy with the services generally but not happy to be locked in without any agreement from myself.

Hi Daniel
Ok thanks for letting me know and your input to my question, it seems like they have agreed this strategy internally but are anything but transparent about it to existing customers, I will take it up with sky directly.

Just spent two days arguing this precise issue. Phoned yesterday and spent 40 mins suggesting I was not happy about supposedly needing to recontract my broadband as I was simply moving house. In the end I hung up and tried again to day to see he I got a different response. This was even worse as this Rep suggested I would need to also take out a new Sky Q package as opposed to pgmpj' ammtgmtga with my existing one that runs till December.
After nearly 45 mins he relented and put me through to another rep who was in an offshore call centre. This one suggested he would have a word with a manager and that I could now simply transfer my complete package of broadband, Sky Q and Sky talk as is.
Elsewhere on this forum people have suggested that when moving home you must re-contract your broadband because Sky have to pay the upfront fees to Openreach for disconnecting your old line and activating your new line. However, it appears if you stand your ground this is not the case. As for supposedly having to recontract the Sky Q tv package this was a complete lie!
